Baggage Claim
In late 2004, Brooklyn Arts Exchange announced that it needed works "about gay marriage." Since I had two minutes of material, I applied. The resulting (longer) piece was an abstract stump speech for GMAA (Gay Marriage Affirmative Action). After all, how can gay people be expected to maintain functional, intimate relationships when our personalities manifest themselves in a matrix of ontological violence, oppression and misery? We need a head start. The federal government should find us romantic partners! Actively, with rigorous background checks and compatibility tests.
